DESCRIPTION:Following The Visual and the Political colloquium\, this is a s
 pecial opportunity for prospective students to visit the Urban Design stud
 io and speak with the program director and current students about the Spit
 zer School's Master of Urban Planning in Urban Design program.\n\nScroll d

 s possible.STEM designated\nLocated in the heart of New York City\, the M
 aster of Urban Planning in Urban Design program at Spitzer is a three-seme
 ster\, design lab-based\, STEM-designated program that transforms cities a
 nd communities by shaping inclusive\, resilient\, and environmentally resp
 onsive solutions for a rapidly urbanizing world.\nThrough the integration 
 of design\, research\, ecological thinking\, and infrastructural planning\
 , our interdisciplinary curriculum challenges outdated policies and urban 
 paradigms. It equips students with the leadership\, technical expertise\, 
 and innovative vision required to navigate and redefine complex urban syst
 ems. Through collaborative design research with other Spitzer programs and
  centers\, as well as partnerships with public and private institutions\, 
 students tackle transformative projects that addressenvironmental concerns
 \, advance social and spatial equity\, and embrace the evolving role of te
 chnology.\nGraduates emerge as leaders in urban design\, planning agencies
 \, architecture\, and multidisciplinary firms\, policy institutions\, and 
 academia\, driving impactful solutions for the challenges of urbanization.
 \n\nAdmissions\nApplicants to the Urban Design program should hold a profe
 ssional degree in either architecture or landscape architecture. Applicant
 s from other backgrounds will be considered in exceptional circumstances a
 nd on demonstration of a high level of design ability. Our next priority d
