 s interested in our two-semester Graduate Urban Design Program directed by
  Distinguished Professor Michael Sorkin. Tour the Spitzer School of Archit
 ecture\, meet current Urban Design students and view their works in progre
 ss\, and speak informally with Prof. Sorkin.\n\nThe graduate program in Ur
 ban Design\, led by Distinguished Professor Michael Sorkin\, is focused o
 n creating new\, equitable\, beautiful\, and sustainable forms and technol
 ogies for the city and urban life. Committed to both experiment and amelio
 ration\, the two-semester program focuses each year on a New York City sit
 e and\, after a research visit\, on design of a city in a demanding enviro
 nment abroad. At the core of the curriculum is the design studio taught by
  the program director.\n\nBelieving that there is no grand\, unified disco
 urse of the urban\, the program offers wide opportunities to engage the un
 paralleled resources of City University and the City of New York\, providi
 ng a rich variety of critical perspectives on urbanism.\n\nApplicants to t
 he Urban Design program should hold a professional degree in either archit
 ecture or landscape architecture. Applicants from other backgrounds will b
 e considered only in exceptional circumstances and on demonstration of a h
