DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate our newest exhibit\, Unfinished\, winner
  of the 2016 Golden Lion Award at La Biennale di Venezia\, and its accompa
 nying publication. We are thrilled to have this internationally renowned 
 show here at the Spitzer School of Architecture\, the only venue it will v
 isit in the United States! Unfinished comes to us through the generous p
 artnerships with the Ministry of Culture\, Embassy of Spain\; Acción Cult
 ural Española (AC/E)\; Spain Arts and Culture\; Spanish Ministry of Publi
 c Works\; and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs Percent of 
 Art Program.\n\nThe celebration will include a gallery talk with former Sp
 itzer Visiting Critic and co-curator of the show Iñaqui Carnicero followe
 d by a reception. We hope you will join us and experience this one-of-a-ki
 nd installation.\n\nThe Unfinished exhibition is a project that was orig
 inally curated for the Spanish pavilion at the Venice International Archit
 ecture Biennale 2016. The exhibition's goal is to take a look at unfinishe
 d architecture in order to discover virtues that can be turned into design
  strategies. During the past period of economic growth in Spain\, construc
 tion became the main driving force behind the economy.  Today we find the
  presence of the unfinished remains of the largest constructional undertak
 ing in history\, which left behind an awkward layout and large\, partially
  built\, and unconsolidated structures. Unfinished sets out to explore c
 reative speculations on converting a past condition into positive contempo
 rary action. The exhibition is on view until February 8\, 2019.
