SUMMARY:Sciame Lecture Series: Bess Krietemeyer
DESCRIPTION:Faculty Intro: Ahu Aydogan Akseli\, Assistant Professor\n\nBess
  Krietemeyer is an architectural designer\, educator\, and researcher focu
 sed on the ways in which emerging material technologies\, human interactio
 n\, and computational simulations influence the design of sustainable buil
 t environments. Prior to joining the faculty as Assistant Professor at the
  Syracuse School of Architecture\, she received her Ph.D. in Architectural
  Sciences from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Center for Architectur
 e Science and Ecology (CASE). Bess is a faculty fellow at the Syracuse Cen
 ter of Excellence\, where she leads the Interactive Design and Visualizati
 on Lab (IDVL)\, a collaborative research group and facility. With interdis
 ciplinary teams at the IDVL\, she is developing hybrid-reality simulations
  for interactive design and energy performance analysis at multiple scales
 . Bess’s research is sponsored through numerous grants\, and she has pub
 lished her work in several venues\, including the most recent issues of Ar
 chitectural Design (AD)\, Technology | Architecture + Design (TAD)\, and t
 he books Architecture in Formation\, Inside Smartgeometry: Expanding the A
 rchitectural Possibilities of Computational Design\, and in Architecture a
 nd Interaction: Human-Computer-Interaction in Space and Place. She current
 ly teaches architectural technology and integrative design courses at the 
 Syracuse University School of Architecture.\n\nSelected Bibliography: Fal
