 )\, Maria Hurtado de Mendoza is an associate professor in the School of Ar
 chitecture at New Jersey Institute of Technology. Prior to NJIT\, she was 
 a faculty member at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSAM) for 15 ye
 ars\, and visiting critic at Cornell University AAP. She was granted the R
 ome Prize in 1996.\n\nestudio.entresitio is a Madrid-NY based practice tha
 t is invested in the material actualization of the architectural concept. 
 The practice has extensive building experience with an emphasis on public 
 work that utilizes novel solutions to the functional and necessary without
  sacrificing the creative or exploratory.\n\nIn 2007\, Architectural Recor
 d selected the firm as Design Vanguard\, helping its work to be published 
 and seen in many countries. Its built work has received more than 30 award
 s and honourable mentions\, as the ArchDaily “Building of the Year 2012
 ” (healthcare) for the trilogy San Blas+Usera+Villaverde\, Madrid.\n\n#h
