SUMMARY:Đorđe Bulajić & Matija Pogorilic (Bump Studio): 5M3 – Exhibiti
 on
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition ‘5M3’ presents the outcome of a summer design st
udio led by Đorđe Bulajić and Matija Pogorilić (BUMP Studio) at the Be
rnard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture\, The City College of New Yo
rk\, and supported by the Capacity Initiative.\n\nOver the course of five
weeks\, 20 first- through fifth-year students developed four full-scale in
 stallations\, each conceived\, designed\, and constructed within a single
week. Working with exactly the same set of 5\,000 floral foam blocks (7.8
″×3.5″×2.4″)\, each installation explored a distinct methodologica
l approach while operating within an identical material and spatial constr
aint. The studio treated drawing and ‘construction’ not as sequential
stages but as a single\, continuous act of thought. Drawings\, diagrams\,
and 1:12 scale models were pursued alongside full-scale building\, each fe
eding back into the other\, offering a study of how architectural ideas ar
e tested\, transformed\, and translated across different scales of represe
ntation and construction. The fourth and final installation\, presented in
the exhibition\, brings together the accumulated experiments of the previ
ous three full-scale installations – from sculpture and interior to a co
 llective 20 × 5-meter megastructure – into a three-dimensional assembla
ge that synthesizes the formal\, spatial\, and organizational questions de
veloped throughout the studio.\n\nThe exhibition opens on July 22 at 3pm i
n rooms 217 and 218. It will remain on view to the SSA community through A
ugust 13\, Monday through Thursday\, 8am–8pm (closed Fridays and weekend
s). Visitors who are not part of the SSA community are kindly asked to arr
ange their visit by contacting BUMP Studio via Instagram.\n\nParticipating
