 ic Space\, "Design Matters: In Favor of Urban Public Space".\nHow can desi
 gn respond to urgent challenges without reinforcing existing inequalities?
  What does it mean to design for resilience in a rapidly changing world? H
 ow can diverse voices shape the outcomes of design processes? What respons
 ibilities do designers hold in shaping these futures? How might design mov
 e beyond problem-solving to become a tool for collective imagination and t

  Principal\, WXY\, New York\n--\nJulio Salcedo-Fernandez (he/him) is an a
 rchitect\, urban designer\, and educator whose work bridges architecture a
 nd urbanism across multiple scales. He is Director of the Master of Urban 
 Planning and Urban Design (MUPUD) program at the City College of New York'
 s Spitzer School of Architecture\, where he teaches and leads interdiscipl
 inary design initiatives focused on the future of cities. Alongside his ac
 ademic work\, he maintains an active design practice and has published and
  lectured on topics including urban resilience\, adaptive reuse\, and the 
 relationship between infrastructure\, ecology\, and the built environment.
  He recently participated in New York City's Urban Resource Recovery Worki

 e/him) is founding partner at Harquitectes. HARQUITECTES is an architectur
 e studio founded in 2000 by David Lorente\, Josep Ricart\, Xavier Ros and 
 Roger Tudó. They combine their professional activity with teaching\, in P
 olytechnic University of Catalonia Faculty of Architecture (ETSAV and ETSA
 B)\, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich\, and Harvard University
  Graduate School of Design. They have been invited to Porto Academy\, Arch
 itectural Association School of architecture\, Barlett school\, University
  of Texas at Austin\, Pontifical Catholic University of Chile\, École d
 ’Architecture Paris-Villemin\, and Umeå School of Architecture\, among 
 other institutions. They have received several national and international 
 awards and their work has been widely published and exhibited.\n\nSuggeste

 al of WXY architecture + urban design\, a New York and Toronto-based pract

 , infrastructure\, and the public realm. Weisz is committed to cities as s
 hared civic environments shaped through design\, policy\, and public engag
 ement. Her work includes Astor Place in Manhattan\, the Rockaway Boardwalk
  reconstruction\, and the Glass City Riverwalk in Toledo\, among other civ
 ic public projects. She co-founded The Design Trust for Public Space and h
 as received the AIA New York Medal of Honor and Architectural Record’s W
