 ntre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona) European Prize for Urban Publ
 ic Space\, "Design Matters: In Favor of Urban Public Space".\nWhat infrast
 ructures are in place to sustain care? How can cities and institutions bet
 ter support those who give and receive it? How might care reshape our unde
 rstanding of independence and interdependence? What would it mean to desig
 n with care at the center? How might prioritizing care transform our envir

 rtner\, Marvel Designs\n\nProf. Marina Correia (she/her) is a practicing a
 rchitect and professor of design\, history\, and theory. She established h
 er practice – Atelier of Architecture and Urban Design - in 2013\, which
  has been dedicated to public architecture\, exhibition design\, interior 
 design and non-profit partnerships in the United States\, Brazil\, and Eur
 ope. She holds an architecture degree from The City University of New York
  (2006)\, a Master in Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School
  of Design (2013) and a Ph.D. in History of Architecture and Urbanism from
  the University of Sao Paulo (2018). She currently teaches at Barnard Coll
 ege – Columbia University and The City College of New York.\n\nSuggested

 /her) is an architectural and urban historian\, is dean of the Spitzer Sch
 ool of Architecture at the City College of New York | CUNY\, the city’s 
 premier public school of architecture. Expert in the history of public arc
 hitecture for children and in repurposing architecture as a strategy for c
 ity-building\, she studies ordinary places in cities. Through this work\, 
 she tackles power and culture in all walks of life\, emphasizes the activi
 sm of women especially on behalf of children\, and ties local stories to n
 ational and international histories. Gutman’s commitment to social justi
 ce has been manifest since she started her career as an architect designin
 g housing for the New York City Housing Authority and shelters for battere
 d women\, abused children\, and homeless New Yorkers. Gutman’s A City fo
 r Children: Women\, Architecture\, and the Charitable Landscapes of Oaklan
 d won the Kenneth Jackson Award for Best Book (North American) in urban hi
 story (2015) and the Spiro Kostof Book Award (2017). A Distinguished CUNY 
 Research Fellow in 2018\, Gutman is the immediate past president of the So
 ciety for American City and Regional Planning History\, a founding coedito
 r of PLATFORM\, and a former coeditor of Buildings &amp\; Landscapes: Jour
 nal of the Vernacular Architecture Forum. Her chapter “Intermediate Scho
 ol 201: Race\, Space\, and Modern Architecture in Harlem\,” in Educating
  Harlem: A Century of Schooling and Resistance in a Black Community\, eds.
  Ansley T. Erickson and Ernest Morrell (Columbia\, 2019)\, received the Ca
 therine W. Bishir Prize in 2021. She’s currently writing Just Space: Mod
 ern Architecture\, Public Schools\, and Racial Inequality in New York City
  (University of Texas Press).\n\nDr. Zaida Muxi (she/her) holds a Ph.D. in
  Architecture and has been a Distinguished Professor at TEC de Monterrey
 ’s School of Architecture\, Art and Design since October 2023\, where sh
 e coordinates the certificate program “Architecture\, City\, and Gender
 ” Professor in the Department of Urban Planning\, Land Use Planning\, an
 d Landscape at the Barcelona School of Architecture. From 2015 to 2019\, s
 he served as Director of Urban Planning\, Housing\, Environment\, Urban Ec
 ology\, and Public Space for the city of Santa Coloma de Gramenet\, Catalo
 nia. She is a specialist in urban planning\, architecture\, and gender. He
 r publications include Beyond the Threshold and published (dpr-barcelona\,

  Sasha Topolnytska (she/her) is an architectural designer\, educator\, an
 d founder of FARMMM Studio\, an architecture and design practice working a
 cross architecture\, interior design\, installations\, objects\, and resea
 rch. Her work is interested in structures and relationships of support\, a
 nd in how architecture participates in everyday life across different bodi
 es\, communities\, and scales. Her individual and collaborative work has r
 eceived an NYCxDESIGN Award and support from the Architectural League of N
 ew York\, the Center for Architecture\, NYSCA\, and the Design Trust for P
 ublic Space. She teaches architecture and interior design courses at the S
 pitzer School of Architecture at City College of New York and Parsons Scho
