DESCRIPTION:The Chair’s office at Spitzer is pleased to invite all studen
 ts\, faculty\, and staff to the Architecture Department Lunchtime Lecture 
 featuring Adjunct Assistant Professor Ruo Jia. This event will be co-spons
 ored by the Spitzer School of Architecture Asian Club (SSAA). Please join 
 us in rm. 107.\n\nRuo Jia is an architect/artist/theorist/historian/educat
 or based in NYC. She holds a Ph.D. in Architectural History and Theory fro
 m Princeton University School of Architecture with an interdisciplinary hu
 manities certificate from Media+Modernity\, an M.Arch. II from Harvard Gra
 duate School of Design\, and an M.Arch. and a B.Arch. from Southeast Unive
 rsity.\n\nShe is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the School of Architect
 ure at Pratt Institute\, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Spitzer
  School of Architecture.\n\nHer research focuses on constructing a postmod
 ernist materialist space through the interweaving of “Chinese Experiment
 al Architecture” and “French Poststructuralist Theory\,” which expan
 ds to envisioning the possibilities of Asian Feminist Architecture\, and P
 osthumanist Sustainability. She is the founder and director of the researc
 h-based practice IfWorks\, exploring art/architecture possibilities indivi
 dually or collectively.
